Social Emotional Learning for Educators

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) encompasses a range of behavioral and cognitive skills essential for character development, youth growth, and behavioral understanding. In this course, you will be introduced to SEL through the following key areas:

  • An overview of SEL and its five core competencies.
  • Self-assessment of your SEL skills and identifying areas for growth.
  • The impact of unconscious biases on teaching and the importance of understanding and addressing the diverse cultural and social contexts of individuals and communities.
  • Effective strategies for implementing SEL to promote respect, equity, and inclusion.
